Who doesn't love Edie Brickell and The New Bohemians? I think every girl in America at one time or another has owned a copy of Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars. I myself have owned it on both LP and CD. My #1 peep Judge loves these guys. To this day if she sees them on a jukebox in a bar or hears them on the radio she gets all happy and nostalgic for 1988/1989. Good times. I have to admit I get a little nostalgic when I hear these guys too.
>When Edie Brickell hit the scene there was an explosion of female artists coming out. Tracy Chapman, Michelle Shocked, 10,000 Maniacs, Suzanne Vega, and many many more that I'm just too fried to remember. It was as if all of a sudden major labels had woke up and realized there was some great new female talent out there. The New Bohemians were a jam band out of Texas fronted by Brickell. With a slight twang in her voice Brickell sang tunes with brilliant lyrics, captivating vocal performances, and she was backed by an awesome band. Even though they really had only 15 minutes of fame you couldn't ask for a more flawless album from start to finish. I couldn't pick just one tune that stuck out in my mind by them so you are getting four. For your listening pleasure here is "What I am", "Circle", "Nothing", and Brickell's cover of the Dylan classic "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall". Be prepared to get nostalgic for the late 80s after listening to these tunes. Enjoy.

*Judge-These tunes are for you. I hate the fact that we don't see or talk to each other everyday. I know life has been crazy as of late, but just remember good times are coming.
Okay, confession: Edie Brickell's voice makes me want to stab myself in the ears. I think she's completely talentless. Feh.
