I fucking hate guns. It bothers me to no end that the NRA has this country by the balls with their bullshit. This country is beholden to whichever political action committee has the most money. The gun industry has a lot of money. It is a lawless cash cow. Check out how easy it is to get a gun in Virginia. If I'm under 12 years of age I can't buy a gun, but the minute I turn 12 I can have a rifle. Awesome! A rifle will work perfectly for going on a killing spree. If I'm good gun toter the minute I turn 18 I can buy a semi-automatic weapon and go on a legit killing spree with hardcore firearms. Even better.
Thirty-three dead students at Virginia Tech. . The worst campus rampage in US history. This is what happens when you don't have gun control laws. I just can't believe that more people don't see the importance of gun control. In this instance I'm not afraid to be labeled a "bleeding heart liberal" with my views. I thought that after the Columbine shootings that this country would no longer be sitting on the fence about this issue. Ban them. Get them off the street. If you have one and you get caught-you go to prison plan and simple. Do not pass go do not collect $200.
This country needs to stop worrying about Don Imus the omni-bigot and worry about why a college student was so unhappy he decided to kill thirty-three people including himself. Or why innocent children are dying in the streets of America's cities from stray gunfire. How many innocent people have to die before this country takes a stand against guns?

Paste rated this album #2 in their best of 2006. I gave them a listen off of that review and let me tell you they rock. What I dig most about them is the fact they sound like a drunken Springsteen. This album is loaded with a ton of heavy guitar riffs and lyrics you can't understand. RUN DON'T WALK to your nearest record store and pick this bad oscar up.

I just reread this book. It is amazing. For some reason I'm fascinated by landscape architecture. Olmsted is probably best known for desinging Central Park and Prospect Park. he also desinged the town of Riverside a suburb of Chicago. One of my favorite mysteries set in New York. Carr does an amazing job of capturing old New York. I just recently re-read this book. I forgot how good it is. If you haven't already read it go pick it up you won't be disappointed. This book is like a train wreck-you can't take your eyes off of it. I found it disturbing and engaging all at the same time. She has no problem telling the reader that she has worked in the sex industry of the bay area, taken drugs, slept around, and traveled around the country via Grayhound.
