I got one of these today. I never knew what it was like to actually sit and work. I had no idea what it was like to actually work in a quiet room. I kept waiting for the bell to ring to signal the close of the market. It never happened. It was a very strange feeling. I saw the dude who runs all of Duke & Duke's North American offices today and he said to me "What are you doing here?" and I said "You kept ridin' me about when I was coming up here. Well, I'm here now. Ask and you shall receive. Think of it as my gift to you." He laughed and returned to his office.
I might actually end up liking this new gig after all.
This is how I felt today when I first got there. It was all new and a bunch of people were hovering over me. But, it passed once my lunch arrived.
Okay, I totally just spewed seltzer because that Trading Places allusion is freakin' high-LARIOUS.
And, yes, exilegrrl, welcome to the sedentary delights of UPSTAIRS; may you soon have your own monogrammed coffee mug, pencil cup and poster of a little teeny tiny kitty cat hanging onto a tree-branch by its iddybiddywiddle baby claws. Hang in there, grrrl!

I'm thinking about making myself a mug for my pens that says "Get off your high horse and Get off me!" what do you think?

Hmmm...I like that. You might also raise a few eyebrows with a "Kucinich '08" mug. Maybe a "Traders Do It Over the Phone" or "Traders Do It Loudly With Both Hands", or some such.

I think we should take a pottery class and make all kinds of sassy mugs. I was thinking maybe "have you hugged your trader today?" with hand painted arms around it.
